THE ‘DELIVERY’ DIVE

THE ‘DELIVERY’ DIVE

Delivery these days especially food delivery and online deliveries are a common entity for takeaways and restaurant. There are many factors that needs consideration when making online orders for deliveries. These factors includes the quality of food, timeliness of the delivery order, safety & security of the person delivering, and other quality assurance & customer drop-out measures. Online ordering through mobile apps and websites are getting common and part of the business norms as the world is a busy place.

You don’t have to take the hassle of driving to the restaurant for pick-up of food or eating inside. The best thing is to place an order and everything is available for you in 30-40 minutes time.

Food quality is a huge aspect that is considered heavily by most consumers who love food and deliveries. As according to a food survey 94% of the consumers expect the same standard of food in delivering an order while they have dining inside a restaurant. This is primarily because of the amount of competition in the food industry, the readiness of the availability and orders transparency.

The McCain food service did a test on several delivery packages to determine the best factors for the packaging of French fries and appetizers. According to them the usage of open mouth container and placing it near the top of the bag was common. As best practices Napkins were inserted between the fry containers for the sake of absorbing the steam and clear packaging for accuracy. What’s important is the placing of hot and cold items separately and delivery bags were sealed to avoid the tampering. The best approach is the distance i.e. within a set radius that is maximum of 15-20 minutes for better results and getting acknowledgements from the customers.
